Solent Sexual health team support residents across Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Southampton and Portsmouth in providing sexual and reproductive health alongside genitourinary medicine.
The main functions of a sexual health clinic, or genitourinary medicine clinic (GUM), are to provide specialised sexual health services to people of all ages. This can include sexual health testing, provision of free contraception, psychosexual counselling, HIV testing, treatment and care to name but a few.

Southampton has a high and increasing rate of STIs with low uptake of testing. In addition to a high percentage of people being diagnosed late with HIV.
